A Fayetteville man was arrested and charged with grand and petit larceny for allegedly stealing a running car outside of a Stewart's in Cooperstown.

Well that's what happened at t stewarin cperstow now fayetteville man is facing charges for stealing a person's car that was left running in the parking lot.

22 year old john morton of fayetteville is facing grand larceny and petit larceny charges.

The otsego county sheriff's office says morton allegedly stole the car -- and threw the cell phone that was in the car out -- so he couldn't be tracked.
