Tragedy strikes a northwest arkansas family.

Authorities say a toddler died while trying to save his puppy from a house fire.

The fire started at a gentry arkansas home home saturday just after five p-m.

While the family was trying to put out the flames and call for help -- one-year-old loki sharp ran back in the house to try to save the family's six month old puppy.

Neither survived the fire.

The incident is still under investigation, but the family says it was an electrical fire.

A grass fire burned about 40 acres yesterday near the will rogers world airport in oklahoma city.

The oklahoma city fire department says it burned some airport property but no structures were damaged.

Flights at the airport were not impacted.

Crews continue to put out hot spots.

There is no word on a cause.

We're learning more on why the city of joplin has decided to restart it's search for a new city manager.

The city had narrowed their search to five candidates, and decided to bring four to the city.

However, two dropped out, leaving only two candidates still in the running.

According to mayor gary shaw, the council then decided it best to start the search over.

Shaw says they hope to have a new city manager in place before the april elections.

The department of agriculture is making changes to the snap program the new rule would affect food stamp recipients between the ages of 18 and 49, who are childless and not disabled.

Currently, people in this group must work 20 hours a week to qualify, but states can create waivers in areas that face high unemployment.

The new rule would limit those waivers.

The change to the supplemental nutrition assistance program or snap, will go into effect on april first.
