Almquist named NAHL Forward of the Month

From the austin bruins has been making big plays on the ice all season and his effort has found him in the national spotlight.

Káiámát news three sports director á kaleb gillock á joins us now to tell us more./// george á ben almquist has had quite the season á he had comitted to play college hockey at wisconsin á but decommited á looking for a better hockey culture.

As of right now á he's found it austin á and has been named the náaá hál's foprward of the you know its big a lot of it has to come with our team we've been playing some really good team hockey this past november, getting a lot of key wins and i think a lot of that just pays into how i've been playing.

To say that november was a good month for ben almquist would be an understatemen t.

He racked up 13 points and an náaáhál best nine goals throughout the month.

He says the key to his success out on the ice is all in what coach howard has been teaching them.

Just sticking to coach's system.

You know we've been playing good hockey and that kind of brings out the good in me i guess is keeping to the system and getting pucks on net, getting to the front of the net because that's where i got a lot of my goals.

Obviously he had a big month in november he had a player of the week a couple weeks ago and now for him to be a player of the month i think that just shows what the team has been doing and he's a big part of that.

He's a leader on and off the ice and i think the guys are following.

The bruins are off to a 12 and eight start on the year sitting fourth in the central division with only six points separating them from first.

As a staff we're starting to see our structure plate a little better and now it's time to get a little more detailed and a little better each week and going forward if we can keep doing what we did in november we're going to be in a good spot but you now we've got some tough games ahead.

The bruins return to the ice tomorrow night to take on saint cloud for the first time this year.

They're an opportunistic team they're a hardánosed team and we just got to stay to how we puck drop for tomorrow night's game is scheduled for 7:05./// kristin scott
