UK Farmers Wants Import Tariffs If Johnson Follows Through With No-Brexit Deal

Britain’s National Farmers Union wrote to Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

They asked Johnson to create import tariffs on eggs, some dairy products, horticultural products and grains.

According to Reuters, they want these tariffs if Britain leaves the European Union without a trade deal.

If Britain follows through with a no-deal, British agricultural exports to the EU are expected to face tariffs.

Export tariffs on agricultural goods would most likely lead to a surplus of domestic products on the U.K. market.
