Petitioners aim to put Trump Tower on Obama Avenue

Opponents of president Trump are targeting his signature New York building...specifically it's address.

An online petition has already gathered more than 340,000 signatures in support of a proposal to rename the 5th Avenue block where Trump Tower President Barack Obama Avenue.

"I'm hopeful that Trump will actually hear about it and that it will irk him." Elizabeth Rowin, no fan of Trump, launched the petition as a joke.

"Because I know that Trump really loathes Obama, because of that 2011 correspondents dinner where Obama roasted him so well and I love that video trump's just sitting there seething and everybody's laughing at him." (Nats) "Mr. Trump, he certainly would bring some change to the White House, let's see what we've got up there ..." But the Trump/Obama emnity didn't start there.

It began when Trump questioned Obama's citizenship, and though he later recanted, the current president has never passed an opportunity to criticize his predecessor.

"We don't want to go back to the Obama days of low wages, high unemployment, rising crime, open borders..." "ISIS is honoring President Obama.

He is the founder of ISIS, he's the founder of ISIS!" "I watched him speak today, he had a very small crowd and they never talk about how big our crowds are." Rowin says her petition is a way to refocus Trump's attention.

"But that it will distract him from creating more horrible laws against immigrants or environmental laws or you know gutting environmental...or inciting more white supremacists to shoot up crowds /// and so the more we can let him focus on something else, the toddler with a different toy, you know, shiny object, then good." And as for Obama?

"I think Obama has a great sense of humor and as much as he would say, don't do it, I think he would also day it's hilarious.

If she gets 350,000 signatures, Rowin says the petition would go to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio....who is also running for president.

If successful, it would give this building a new address..
