Hubble Telescope Celebrates 29th Birthday

It's been 29 years since the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope.

The famous telescope was launched into low Earth orbit in 1990 in order to collect information about deep space.

Digital Trends reports Hubble has celebrated its birthday by sharing an image of space's Southern Crab Nebula.

The image depicts the hourglass-shaped nebula which was created by a binary star system.

Hubble also imaged the Southern Crab in 1999, when it shared the elaborate structure of the nebula for the first time.
