Hubble Captured A Sparkling Cosmic Gem

NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope just captured a stunning look at one of the largest and brightest globular clusters ever discovered.

????It’s known as Messier 3 and is part of the Hubble’s Messier catalog which contains some of the most fascinating objects observed from Earth’s Northern Hemisphere.

????The 8 billion year old cluster contains half a million stars and has an unusual amount of stars that fluctuate in brightness over time, known as variable stars.

????So far, scientists have discovered 274 variable stars which is by far the highest found in any globular cluster.

????It’s thought that all stars in a globular cluster are the same age and that it’s only a difference in their mass that makes them different colors.

????By figuring how bright a star actually is based on its mass and classification as well as how bright it appears from Earth…????They can figure out how far away it is from us.
