Court Orders Thai Party Be Dissolved For Nominating King's Sister

According to a report by Reuters, on Thursday, a Thai court ordered the dissolution of an opposition party for nominating the king's sister as its candidate for prime minister in the upcoming March 24 election.

Reuters reports that banning the Thai Raksa Chart party strikes a blow to opposition parties' chances of defeating parties allied with the military junta that has now ruled for five years.

The election will reportedly be the country's first since the military seized power in a 2014 coup.
