Uttar Pradesh: Mathura court allows lawsuit seeking 'removal' of Shahi Idgah

A district court in Mathura ruled on Thursday that a suit filed for the "removal" of the Shahi Idgah mosque was "maintainable", overturning its dismissal two years ago. The next hearing is scheduled for May 26.

A court in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday allowed for the hearing of a lawsuit demanding the removal of a mosque in Mathura. It is alleged by the petitioners that the mosque is built on the Krishna Janambhoomi or the Birth place of Lord Krishna.
