CHANDRAYAAN-2, IS SET TO PERFORM SOFT-LANDING IN THE UNEXPLORED SOUTH POLE REGION OF THE MOON ON SEPTEMBER 7 AT 1.55 AM. THE VIKRAM LANDER HAD SUCCESSFULLY SEPARATED FROM CHANDRAYAAN-2 ORBITER ON MONDAY AFTERNOON AND IT IS CURRENTLY ON ITS WAY TO LAND ON THE MOON.IF SUCCESSFUL THIS LANDING WILL MAKE INDIA THE FOURTH NATION AFTER THE US CHINA N RUSSIA TO PERFORM SOFT-LANDING ON THE LUNAR SURFACE AND THE FIRST NATION TO TOUCH DOWN THE SOUTH POLE REGION OF THE MOON.
