Tehreek-e-Hurriyat

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Wa Kashmir is a separatist political party in Jammu and Kashmir, India founded by Syed Ali Shah Geelani. It was founded on 7 August 2004 after Geelani quit his former party Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir. The Indian government on December 31, 2023 declared the party an ‘Unlawful Association’ under the anti-terror law- the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for a period of five years.
