The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is an Indian regional political party in the state of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and union territory of Puducherry. It is currently the main opposition party in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly post 2017 it is part of the Indian ruling political front National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and indirectly controlled by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the centre. AIADMK was a Dravidian party founded by M. G. Ramachandran (M.G.R) at Madurai on 17 October 1972 as a breakaway faction from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam headed by M. Karunanidhi
