Sturgeon and Yousaf react after Murrell charged by police

Former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell has been charged by police as part of a probe into the party's finances.

The husband of Scotland’s former first minister Nicola Sturgeon was charged on Thursday in connection with the alleged embezzlement of funds.

First Minister Humza Yousaf says the development is “a really serious matter indeed.” It comes more than a year after 59-year-old Murrell was originally arrested as part of the investigation known as Operation Branchform.
