Pakistan: Deadly Bomb Blast at Rally and Imran Khan Sentenced to Another 14 Years in Prison

At least four people have been killed in a roadside bomb attack at a rally held by Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party.

The rally was being held in Sibi, a city in Pakistan’s Baluchistan region.

Several other people were also injured in the blast on Tuesday evening.

This morning Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for corruption.

This comes just a day after the former prime minister was given another 10-year prison sentence for ‘revealing official secrets’.

Khan, who is already in prison following another corruption conviction last year, claims all the charges are politically motivated.

Pakistan’s parliamentary elections take place next week, and Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is one of Pakistan’s largest political parties.

Imran Khan is barred from standing for elected office due to his criminal convictions.
