In a dramatic escalation, Israeli warships have carried out their first-ever naval strike against the Houthis in Yemen, targeting the strategic port city of Hodeidah.

The attack marks a major shift in Israel’s military response to repeated Houthi missile and drone strikes.

According to the Israeli military, the strike was a direct retaliation for a recent hypersonic missile launched from Yemen at Ben Gurion Airport.

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree vowed continued attacks until Israel ends its blockade on Gaza.
