U.S.-Israeli Hostage Edan Alexander Freed by Hamas, Crowd Erupts in Joy | New Jersey | Tel Aviv

Joy erupted in Tenafly, New Jersey and Tel Aviv as Edan Alexander, the last living U.S.-Israeli hostage in Gaza, was released by Hamas after over 19 months in captivity.

The 21-year-old soldier, captured during Hamas’ October 2023 assault, was handed to the Red Cross.

His release comes just before U.S. President Donald Trump’s regional visit and amid direct Hamas-Washington ceasefire talks.
