Government defends Liz Truss cancelling BBC interview
Conservative leadership hopeful Liz Truss has pulled out of an interview with the BBC’s Nick Robinson which was due to air on Tuesday evening.
Government minister Matt Warman says that there has been scrutiny of both Ms Truss and Rishi Sunak at “huge numbers of hustings”, and that the new prime minister will face scrutiny on Wednesday next week at PMQs in the House of Commons.
