Natural gas has seen a global 2.2% average annual growth rate over the past ten years.

By comparison, oil usage grew at a rate of 0.7% globally over the same period of time.

Coal only grew globally by 0.1%.

According to 'Forbes,' natural gas is expected to be the only fossil fuel to see substantial growth over the next 20 years.

Over the past 10 years, U.S. shale has made the United States the global leader of natural gas producers.

In 2021, a new all-time high for natural gas production was reached in the U.S. Last year, the U.S. held a large share of 23.1% share of global natural gas production.

The next two largest producers were Russia with 17.4% and the Middle East with 17.7%.
