PM: We don’t want to scrap the Northern Ireland Protocol
Boris Johnson says that he does not want to “scrap” the Northern Ireland Protocol but thinks it can be “fixed”.
The prime minister is in Belfast for emergency talks with Northern Ireland’s political parties.
The DUP is currently refusing to join Sinn Fein in a new Executive or to allow the election of a speaker to the Assembly unless there is fundamental change to the Northern Ireland Protocol.
