Sensex jumps 701 points on the back of strong global cues. HUL surges post numbers. |Oneindia News

The Sensex rose almost 700 points to 57,521.06 (roughly 1.25 percent).

The Nifty rose by a similar amount to 17,245.05.

The biggest gainer was Hindustan Unilever Ltd., which rose 4.5 percent.

Today, 43 of the 50 stocks traded up, while 7 declined.
