Sunak: Plan "ameliorates" part of impact on living standards

Having been accused by Angela Eagle of making a "political decision" to "plunge" 1.3 million people into "absolute poverty", Chancellor Rishi Sunak tells the Treasury Committee that the measure he is introducing will "ameliorate" a third of the impact on living standards by "forces clearly outside of my control".
