Watch: A British group of friends decide to play a game of chess in FREEZING COLD WATER!

A group of adventurous lads will stop at nothing for a thrill and played a game of extreme chess - in a FREEZING COLD lake.

Jamie Kamaz, Rhys Simmons and Thomas Michaelides were inspired by the intro of 'Queens Gambit' on Netflix and travelled to the coldest lake in the UK.

The trio filmed themselves at LLyn Y Fan in Carmarthenshire, South Wales, as they engaged in a battle not only of wits, but human endurance.

They managed to tolerate the freezing water for 20 minutes - just enough time to complete on game.

Jamie from Hitchin, London, runs the 'Passion Squad' Youtube channel with Rhys, 24 and Thomas, 24, who both live in Enfield.

24-year-old Jamie said: "The reason behind this trip was to determine who is the ultimate chess champion between Jamie and Tom.

"Rhys set out the extreme conditions because the cold apparently enhances your concentration levels.

"We saw Queens Gambit TV show and thought how could we take this to another level and have fun with it.

"The biggest challenge was to actually concentrate in the freezing conditions.

All my chess strategies went out the window and all I could think about is getting out the lake.

"Tom and I decided that we are both bad at chess, but we can finally stop the debate about who's better." The amazing footage was uploaded to 'The Passion Squad' Youtube channel.
