Closed ATMs, shortage of cash in Aligarh amid stretched weekend curfew

As weekend curfew continues in Uttar Pradesh, people in the city are facing difficulties in getting cash from ATMs. "I needed cash for my daughter's marriage but most of the ATMs have run out of cash in the city," says a local.

Uttar Pradesh government extended weekend lockdown to three days.

However, Medical shops and hospitals will remain open during the lockdown.

The weekend lockdown in the state will now be in place from Friday night till Tuesday morning.
