Two NLFT militants surrender with weapons in Tripura

Two militants belonging to the banned NLFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura) organisation surrendered with arms and ammunition before the police on April 15 in Dharmanagar of North Tripura district.

Both the militants wanted in various cases have been identified as Joseph Jamatia and Uttam Kishore Jamatia and deposited three factory made pistols, magazines and ammunition to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) L Darlong in presence of Superintendent of Police (SP) North Tripura district Bhanupada Chakraborty who played an important role in convincing them to come back to normal life.

The militants were trained in Bangladesh and were living in Nagaland.
