The migrant workers began to return to their native places from Surat due to surge in COVID cases.

A migrant worker said, "People are going home because they fear lockdown could be imposed once again.

And they want to avoid the pain they endured during the lockdown last year." Migrant workers were seen at large number at bus depot to leave the city.
