Bafta film awards will take place without a live audience

The Bafta film awards will take place in April without a live audience, Bafta chief executive Amanda Berry has confirmed.

Ms Berry said the “ingredients” of the ceremony are still being worked out.

It comes as the film academy has announced the nominees for the EE Rising Star Award, the only gong voted for by the public.
