Watch: Elephant calf tries to revive dead mother in Kerala's Kallar

A distressed elephant calf tried to revive its dead mother in Kerala's Kallar.

The dead jumbo was spotted by rubber tappers at a private estate.

Forest officials were able to remove the calf from the site after around 5 hours.

It was taken to India's first elephant rehabilitation centre in Kotoor.

Forest officials do not suspect poisoning since the baby would've eaten the same food.
