The pandemic has made it hard for a lot of people to pay their rent.

Kimt news 3's jeremy wall spoke to a real estate agent who says landlords ?

"(not receiving rent from tenants is a big issue.

He joins us live from keller williams realty.

Katie, real estate agent nick stagenberg tells me the pandemic is posing challenges for landlords... stagenberg says interestingly enough people that live in apartments are less likely to be able to pay thier rent than those renting single family homes.

He tells me it's often times because of their jobs ?

"* especially those in the service industry ?

"* like hotels, bars and restaurants.

Stagenberg says he is one of many landlords being directly we recently acquired property that had a tennant in place that has been there for all of 2020, has basically not made any rent payments.

They had twenty four thousand dollars in unpaid rent, at the time of us acquiring that property a few weeks ago, it's a big hole alot of tennants are going to struggle to get out of.

It's a trickle down effect... stagenberg tells me when tenants don't pay their rent... landlords are left in a difficult situation..

And may also default on their mortgage.
