Hyderabad women from humble background fighting civil polls to ensure development

Two women from poor background have decided to contest the upcoming GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) elections to ensure development in their areas.

Farhana, wife of a cab driver and Rekha, who irons clothes for a living are contesting the upcoming civic polls on TDP tickets.

Rekha said, "There are many issues in our locality.

Sewage overflows in front of houses.

I hope I win the election and get to serve the people." "There is a lot of problem in my locality, so I took this bold step.

There are not enough graveyards here.

People have to keep hold of the corpse for two days.

This has been a long-drawn struggle.

People in my area are supporting me.

If I win, I will definitely work hard, said Farhana.
