High-priced onions become new normal for consumers in Mumbai

Onion prices continued to surge in Mumbai's Byculla market.

Continues rainfall in parts of India led to rise in onion prices.

Onions are being sold at Rs 70-80 per kg.

Traders used to sell 10 quintals in a day, now it has reduced to less than 3 quintals.

A seller said, "Prices have doubled.

We used to sell 10 quintals in a day, now it's reduced to less than 3 quintals.

We've no idea why supply is less and how long this will prevail."
