Army canteens cannot sell imported goods any longer.

An October 19 internal order from the Defence Ministry said that in future, "procurement of direct imported items shall not be undertaken".

This means that the 4000 army shops in the country that sell liquor, electronics and other goods at discounted prices to soldiers, ex-servicemen and their families will not be able to buy imported goods including some sought after brands of alcohol.
