Will be muted during the second presidential debate thursday night.

The goal is to avoid the chaos from the first debate, when candidates often spoke over each other.

L3: election 2020 mics will get muted during final debate at the start of each of the six segments of the debate, each candidate will be given two minutes to answer an initial question.

During that portion, the opposing candidate's microphone will be muted.

After they give their answer....both microphones will be unmuted to allow for discussion.
