Although some states are trying to recover during the pandemic, many families are still in need.

Not just in indiana but many states.

After much success with providing food here in the summit city, a local non profit is hoping to create the same success in california.

Fox 55's jentill neal tells us how.

Ty simmons and the fort wayne non profit- human agricultural co-opperative is feeding thousands of families with their food giveaways.?nat?

Since the beginning of pandemic cars have been lining up for food boxes to help ease the burden of worrying about meals.

Simmons says more than 550,000 pounds of food has been given to local families and after much success ty simmons is helping calfornia's hula networks to do the same thing.>00:06:04-00:06:22"what i've been doing for the last month is gathering a network of not only farmers, organizations, and non profits is to build on what they already have to make their niche a little stronger and add a little provided assistance."hula networks provides networking hardware, but owner scott hobin says they are dedicated to help fill the gap for those families facing hardships right now in the bay area who've been hit hard by the pandemic.they do charitable efforts throughout the year, but lately it's been challenging dealing with a shortage in resources.> 00:03:43-00:04:03"we've seen a really high increase in additional poverty, homelessness, people living in rvs and just trying to deal with the situation.

In an area that's so affluent and so many resources we have seen the effects out here as well."

The goal is to raise $20,000 for the together we are better stronger in the bay area charity campaign to help further their giving efforts.

And there is a goal to feed 600 people on december 5th to send food to the notting hill area in san jose, downtown sanfranisco, and north oakland.

>00:08:25-00:08:31"working with ty on this and kind of understanding a little more about what he's doing, we'd like to continue this as a legacy now."simmons says no money or resources will be taken away from the program in the summit city, he's just hoping others will help out in the same way they've done locally.>00:06:40-00:06:45we see that there's needs not just here, but all over the country."in fort wayne, jentill neal fox 55 news
