Watch: Kamal Nath’s ‘item’ jibe at ex-minister Imarti Devi; BJP files complaint
In the run-up to Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly bypolls, former chief minister Kamal Nath stoked controversy by referring to BJP candidate for Dabra, Imarti Devi as an ‘item’.
Nath was addressing a campaign rally in Dabra for Congress candidate Suresh Raje.
During the rally, Nath said, “Suresh Raje ji is our candidate.
He is a very nice & simple person.
Our candidate is not like her.
What is her name?
Why do I need to take her name?
You know her better than I do.
You should have warned me earlier what an item she is.” Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan lashed out at Kamal Nath on Twitter.
BJP has now approached the election commission against Kamal Nath.
