Possible.

"i think people are extremely nervous about getting covid and flu and the same time."

Nurse practicioner lindsey weatherford says there is a growing shortage in flu shots.

She says more people are getting the flu shot than usual this year.

"we're trying to push for people who are high risk to go ahead and get them so we don't run out before they can."

Weatherford says the med plus staff uses two main types of the flu shots.

Quadravalant and trivalant.

She says the trivalant flu shot only cover three strands, however the quadravalent shot covers four.

"that's the strongest flu shot and is recommended for people over 65."

She says with coronavirus causing the elderly to be more high risk she advises the community to get their flu shot as soon as possible.

"for the higher risk and the kids come on in, go ahead and get it before we run out, if we do."

According to some local pharmacies the quadravalant flu shot is already on back order in many places.
