Construction of roads with new 'Rigid Concrete Pavement' technique is underway in Srinagar.

The new technique is durable and economical.

The project will directly benefit thousands of locals in Srinagar.

While talking about the up-gradation, Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency (JKERA), junior engineer said, "Earlier, we used magnum, which is flexible pavement.

But in Rigid Concrete Pavement technology has better durability.

It will benefit people economically.

In magnum flexible pavement, there were complaints of damage and patches every month." Locals lauded administration's move as this new technique will rule out problems due to rain, water-logging.

"This is great step taken by government.

This will ease our problems. These new roads have been introduced in flood affected areas of Srinagar city.

The new technology is better than other pavement concrete," a local said.
