Enloe Medical Center to cut ties with Anthem Blue Cross

Enloe Medical Center announced Friday it will end its contract with Anthem Blue Cross’s Medi-Cal Managed Care.

Enloe medical center announced -- it will end it's contract with anthem blue cross's 'medi-cal' managed care.

That means if you have anthem blue cross through medi-cal -- enloe won't be able to accept that insurance.

Enloe says they were not able to agree because anthem planned to cut payments to the medical center.

We spoke to enloe ceo mike wiltermood... he says they're still willing to come back to the negotiationg table.

They are well blow the cost of service.

So hospitals and doctors typically have to subsidise these programs. so it's important that we negotiate at least the fairest rate available knowing that these programs don't pay for the full cost of care.

Enloe plans to let it's contract with anthem expire on october 31st if they are unable to reach an agreement.

If you need services after that date, enloe says it will help you get coverage throguh an alternative medi- cal provder called "california health and wellness".## shasta
