Delhi Metro all set to welcome back commuters from Sep 07

Delhi Metro is all set to resume its services with COVID-19 protocols from September 07 in a phased manner.

Sanitisation work is underway at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station ahead of its reopening.

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot visited Rajiv Chowk Metro Station on September 06 to inspect preparations made to start Metro services from tomorrow.

Only specific gates will be opened for travellers both for entry and exit.

For example, only Gate number 7 at Rajiv Chowk metro station will be opened for commuters.

Speaking to ANI, Kailash Gahlot said, "I appeal to passengers to follow all protocols while travelling.

But I would also advise people to not take the metro unless very necessary." The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a new travel protocol for commuters in view of COVID-19 pandemic.

Monitoring will be done through CCTV cameras installed at metro stations for crowd management.

Delhi Metro services will operate in two shifts- 07 to 11 am and 04 to 08 pm in the first stage.

All passengers will be required to undergo thermal screening and hand sanitisation at the entry frisking point itself.

Wearing of face mask will be mandatory for all commuters during entry into the stations and also during the entire journey.
