Jerry Falwell Jr. Did Everything Right. Until He Didn't

Jerry Fallwell Jr.'s tenure as president and chancellor of Liberty University crashed to an inglorious end this week, when he was asked to resign.

According to CNN, the prodigal son of the late Rev.

Jerry Falwell always seemed closer in spirit to his defiant, bootlegging grandfather, Carey Falwell.

Falwell Jr. has repeatedly insisted that while he considers himself a conservative Christian, he is by no means a particularly religious man.

And because of his phenomenal success at fundraising, management, and making political connections, his various gaffes were forgiven.

Until now.

The last straw, for Liberty's board of trustees, was Falwell Jr.'s admission that he and his wife had had an affair with a business partner.

Falwell's zipper has been down for a long time.

We've seen everything, and it's too disturbing to stay quiet.
