South African police harass journalists during gender violence protest

During a gender violence protest outside South Africa's parliament, police harassed and intimidated two journalists who were covering the protest.

African News Agency photojournalist, Phando Jikelo, was pulled around by police as he tried to proceed to a scene where police were arresting protesters.

Freelance international video journalist, Saawmiet Moos, was also stopped by police from proceeding to film a scene.

Jikelo and Moos were then asked by police to produce their media cards, which they both displayed to the police.
