Incessant rains shoot up vegetable prices in Jammu

Local administration is on high alert as Jammu witnessed rainfall for third consecutive day in the city.

Locals have complained of high vegetable prices since last few days due to continuous downpour.

While speaking to ANI, a customer said, "Vegetables which were selling for Rs 30 per/kg, are now being sold at Rs 60 per/kg, we can't afford it." Locals are facing problems as essential commodities are getting sold at higher prices.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to severe thunderstorm accompanied with lightning at isolated places very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and many other states for the next five days.
