Kashmir's unexplored tourist destinations getting big infra push

Jammu and Kashmir government is building cafeterias, huts, trekking camps and other public utility spots in the unexplored tourist zones in Anantnag district.

The push on tourism infrastructure will help both the visitors and locals.

Although Kashmir is famous across the world for its mesmerising natural beauty, several unexplored tourist destinations such as Chattpal and Kokernag were neglected by the previous governments.

The new infrastructure is being build under Prime Minister Development Project (PMDP) scheme in Kashmir, and such projects have only gain momentum since the state was converted into a union territory last year.

The infrastructural push in Chattpal and Kokernag will also provide livelihood opportunities to the locals.
