12 naxals surrender in Chhattisgarh on World Tribal Day

At least 12 naxals surrendered in front of police in Chhattisgarh on August 09.

The day also marks International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples or World Tribal Day.

"12 naxalites surrendered to the Dantewada Police under the Lone Varatu '(Return to Home) program.

Five of them have bounty on their head.

So far, 83 naxalites have surrendered under the 'Lone Varatu' program," said Abhisek Pallava, Superintendent of Police (SP), Dantewada.
