Ohio governor tests positive for COVID-19

[NFA] Ohio Governor Mike DeWine said on Thursday he had tested positive for COVID-19 as part of a safety protocol to greet U.S. President Donald Trump when he arrived in Cleveland to visit a Whirlpool washing machine factory.

Ohio Gov.

Mike DeWine has tested positive for coronavirus.

His announcement on Thursday came just before U.S. President Donald Trump was set to touch down in the state to tour a Whirlpool plant.

As part of a safety protocol, DeWine was tested for COVID-19 before he was scheduled to meet with Trump.

According to DeWine's Twitter feed - the Republican governor had no symptoms and would return to the Ohio capital of Columbus to quarantine at home for the next 14 days.

DeWine is the second of the nation's governors to announce they've contracted the virus since the pandemic began.
