I spoke to a local man named michael morgan today about this.

He tells me he is worried that could be his new reality.

Michael morgan/worried about getting evicted: i dont want to be out on the streets and the fact that that's where i may have to go, that is scary.

Michael morgan might not have covid 19 but it's still making him sick to his stomach.

Morgan: because of the virus i dont have a full time job i have a part time job, less hours means less money to pay the rent.

Since march he has been protected by governor newsom's eviction ban - but that could soon change.

Morgan says his landlord just told him he may have to leave his home.

Morgan: im having to find a place and potentially be homeless, its a little stressful.

With the moratorium on evictions in california possibly ending in four weeks - morgan's feels frustrated.

Morgan: i really dont know, hopefully happier times, hopefully things will come together and the finances will be ok.

I reached out to our local and state leaders, i've called and emailed them to see how they plan on protecting renters like morgan.

So far - none have responded.
