Pachyderm Club asks attendees to wear masks today after the Lincoln Dinner controversy over not wearing masks.

Senator todd gardenhire was at today's pachyderm club lunch in downtown chattanooga.

The senator says he decided to skip the hamilton county republican party's biggest event of the year on friday - the lincoln day dinner.

It sparked controversy, after some u.s. senate candidates, like bill hagerty and dr. manny sethi, did not wear masks during the event.

Today, the pachyderm club requested that all members and guests wear masks to today's lunch.

"i wear a mask to show my respect for other people.

I wasn't there saturday night, what they did or didn't do.

I don't know if they didn't have it on while they were talking or they had it on the whole time.

I have no idea, but i wasn't there because i didn't want to be in a big group."
