Artists paint 'Black Lives Matter' Indianapolis street mural

A group of artists are painting a mural reading “Black Lives Matter” on part of a downtown Indianapolis street scheduled to reopen Monday.

It says -- "hashtag -- black lives matter."

The department of public works supervised the project.

Artists worked on the project throughout the weekend.

They say "this is a way to spread their message of equality, and hope, throughout central indiana.

Other cities across the country have painted similar murals on their streets.
