On Friday, the Diocese of Covington named 90 religious and lay employees with substantiated allegations of sexual abuse of a minor while working at the diocese.

TODAY, THE DIOCESE OFCOVINGTON PUBLICLY RELEASEDTHE NAMES OF 90 PRIESTS, NUNS,BROTHERS AND LAY EMPLOYEES WHOHAD SUBSTANTIATED ALLEGATIONSOF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MADEAGAINSTTHEM.THE LIST INCLUDES 59PRIESTS.

A WCPO 9 I-TEAMINVESTIGATION LAST NOVEMBERFOUND THAT COVINGTON WAS ONEOF THE LAST DIOCESES THAT HADáNOT PUBLISHED THE NAMES OFCLERGY WITH SUBSTANTIATEDALLEGATIONS.IN A STATEMENTTODAY -- COVINGTON's BISHOPEXPRESSED "SORROW AND SHAME"FOR THE CONDUCT OF THOSE ONTHE LIST -- AND THAT HE HOPEDRELEASING THE NAMES WOULDBRING HEALING TO VICTIMS.my reaction to the list beingreleased is: it's a long timepast due.
