IT OFFERS THE LABORUNION'S SUPPORT FOR THE FIRSTPHASE OF THE MULTI-BILLIONDOLLAR PROJECT.
THE NORTHEASTMAGLEV PROJECT AIMS TO BRING AHIGH-SPEED TRAIN TO THENORTHEAST CORRIDOR.
THE FIRSTPHASE ALONE WOULD CREATEDTHOUSAND JOBS IN MARYLAND."Imagine if our carpernterlocals and our pile driverlocals can take in hundreds ofapprentices in the next 5, 7,8 years tow work on thisproject and then move on tolongterm careers in thetrade." THE FIRST PHASE OF THEHIGH SPEED TRAIN WOULD TAPEOPLE FROM BALTIMORE TO D-CIN 15 MINUTES...AND THENEVENTUALLY IT WOULD BEEXTENDED TO NEW YORK CITY.
THEPROJECT IS UNDER REVIEW BYFEDERAL, STATE AND LOCALAGENCIES.
IF APPROVED...CONSTRUCTION WOULD BEGIN NEXT YEAR.
