A Macon resident has filed a lawsuit against Macon Mayor Robert Reichert and five Bibb County commissioners.

To our top story tonight at five... a macon man has filed a lawsuit against mayor robert reichert and five bibb county commissioners... who voted to relocate confederate statues in downtown macon.

Martin bell and the military order of the stars and bars georgia society inc.

Filed the lawsuit.

They are seeking damages and asking the courts ... to stop the relocation process.

Last week... commissioners appproved a project... that included moving statues along poplar street and cotton avenue to rose hill cemetary.

The lawsuit claims the group paid annual fees... to host yearly events at the statues.

Bell also claims... he paid almost five hundred dollars to install lights around the statue on cotton avenue.
